Don't swear ever. Not nice >:-(

First of all, I'm very happy that you were able to release this game on time and I can't wait for more games from you :D I really appreciate you asking me to be a beta-tester and it's cool to see all the stuff you added since I first played the 0.1 demo!

I'm gonna start with the things you should add first, so that I end off with the compliments.

First, I think you should add some of the stuff you say in the description (join the Discord for the manual, recommended for controller, local multiplayer only for right now unless you use Parsec, etc.) in the game somewhere. Maybe in the beginning or something. Secondly, and most importantly, you should DEFINITELY work on Keyboard controls because they're a bit confusing even with you telling me the controls in the description. I'm not able to use my controller right now, but I'll take your word that it plays much better.

Now for the good stuff! I'm very glad that you and WooDeeWoo were able to collab with the art, and I think the music and art style really fits with the game. It feels exactly like an old NES game, which is a huge compliment because many games that try to go for the NES style ultimately fall flat because they don't take into consideration the limitations. I think the NES has a bunch of hidden gems on it, and I could see this game being alongside them. It's also very impressive that you did the music, sprites, and the programming yourself.

Overall, I'm very proud of what you were able to create and I can't wait for you to make even more cool things! And I'm very glad that I was able to be a part of the game's creation :)

Gugura responds:

Thanks for the help man, I appreciate it

I would add info like how to play non-locally to the game, but I feel like it'd break the immersion of a game so dedicated to its aesthetic. And I was gonna include the manual to be accessible in-game but I didn't have the time lol

Keyboard controls are rough - originally they were going to be a lot better but I was having problems with numpad keys not working well so I changed it to what's implemented currently. These keyboard controls are definitely something I'm going to iterate on and try to make more intuitive but the game is first and foremost optimized around controller play.

I'm really glad that the NES style seems authentic. I did have to break the palette and sprite color count rules just to make the game more readable a few times but that's really good to hear that despite that it still feels of that era.

Thanks for the thoughtful review and helping me with testing the game before release, it means a lot and you can definitely look forwards to more projects like this from me in the future as well as updates to this game :)

Pretty dang cool game! It's cool to see a game influenced by the original Spiderman ragdoll game and I liked how you included a video where you showed how you made the game. Good job! :D

Thank you :)

When you first look at a ZabuJard game, you may shrug it off as some weird spam submission that's somewhat playable. This is not the case.

You see, ZabuJard's submissions are perfect because they are that of pure rebellion against the Newgrounds system. Look through his games and you'll see he uses current trends (Among Us, Politics, Porn) in his games solely because he knows people will click it. It doesn't matter how garbage it may look on the outside, if you use these products of our time, it will get clicks. And ZabuJard obviously doesn't care much for these recent trends (look at "AMONG US RUINED MY LIFE"), he's simply criticizing them in his strange avant garde-like way. ZabuJard's submissions are a product of the current time we're living in, and when we're old and grey we can look at these submissions to remember what 2020 was like.

This specific submission, although probably unintended, does tell a great message. You see, when you disguise these killers in huge glasses and big hats, they don't look like themselves anymore. They look like.... someone else completely. It's a message on how even if someone doesn't look like a killer, they could still be capable of such horrible things.

I've been a bystander for a while, looking at each of your submissions to get a better understanding of them, and I think I'm finally ready to review one of these bad boys. I give this submission 5/5 stars, it is the perfect spam and it's a great reminder of the world we live in.

ZabuJard responds:

HAHAHAHAHHA GREAT REVIEW THANK U LAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty fun game, but it doesn't seem cropped correctly. Let me know if you don't know what I mean by that or if you're not seeing what I see and I'll PM you with screenshots of what I see. If you fix the cropping, I'll give you a higher score!

I really do like the game concept, and I'd hate to see the score for it suffer because of the bad cropping.

EDIT: It works now, thank you!

EricDanneskjold responds:

the crop is fine for me, but I'd like to see what you are seeing.

I'm assuming I'm supposed to be getting that weird text screen? Just making sure, I'm set on getting all the medals for the ADVENTure calendar this year because I missed them the previous years and I'd hate to miss on one because of that ;-;

Still voting 5 regardless, I saw some of the art on Twitter and it looks great!!

EDIT: The weird text screen was apparently because I was using Brave, my bad.

BrandyBuizel responds:

You can always go back and earn those previous game medals this year!

What an adorable little advent calendar game! I don't usually give things 5 stars but this game put me in the Christmas spirit :D Sadly I wont get all the medals because I started from day 5, but ah well. I'm destined to open all the presents on time starting NOW! Great job to everyone involved!

Pretty fun, I know this is just a demo so I'll be a bit lenient on my score. Just a few suggestions, you should add a start button at the beginning and maybe a photo of the person who the player is talking to in with the text box so it's easier to differentiate between the narrator and the character the narrator is talking to. Overall pretty nice demo though!

ninjamuffin99 responds:

Title screen will be updated, will probably inclued stuff like start game, credits, and in-game options.

Sexy. Happy Clock Day!
