Hey everybody! Honestly, I wanted to make an amazing, huge post about everything I've done this year, all the places I've traveled and the events I've photographed and just this wonderful post recapping my entire year. But then I decided nope! Because I know, for all the highs and all the low of this year, that next year is gonna be even better c:

But the honest-to-god truth is, I've loved this site for as long as I can remember, and recently? I haven't been on it as much as I've been wanting to - a mix of trying to prioritize myself, being away from my drawing tablet for months on end (although that's not an excuse!), and going through quite a few lows this year - and I'm not happy about that! I've been talking to such wonderful people in the community, knowing that I've been a part of the community - while forgetting to dip my toes into that very pool.

But, as with all things in life, we move forward! Which is exactly why I'm making this post! Because from now on, I'm gonna make a lot more of these dumb lil blogs on here (because it's honestly the most underutilized feature on this site, in my opinion!), and I'm gonna contribute to this website in any way I can! I've seen how incredibly talented people are on this site so don't expect too much of me in comparison lol, but I've always been of the mindset that any and every contribution has it's worth! I know my favorite contributions were always the ones lacking in skill, but with enough humor and heart to be something new.

Now, being that it's new years, I wanted to shout-out all the wonderful friends and people who have been a part of my year - or more! I honestly just want to shout-out all of my friends and acquaintances from anywhere in general, whether I've talked to ya much or not, because you're all so incredibly appreciated <3

^ now, I'm sure I forgot whole lot of people and I apologize for that... and I'm also sure that a whole bunch of these people wont even see this! Funnily enough, I met quite a good amount of these people outside of Newgrounds (while still being inside the Newgrounds circle lol... I'm not entirely sure how to explain it!), and it's kinda funny to me that I've met and become friends and acquaintances with so many talented and incredible people - all by just being plain ol' me! Which is wonderful and I do feel so truly lucky, but it does give you a bit of imposter syndrome lol :P but that's just another reason to start creating and contributing in any way that I can!

Anyways, HAPPY NEW YEARS, EVERYBODY!! I hope you all have such an amazing days, and that you all have such incredible years deserving of yourselves. Outside of seeing everyone's the wonderful creations on the site (as well as creating myself), I for one am excited for all the meetups next year! There's 3 in specific that I'm particulary excited for, presuming they happen... and who knows! Maybe in 2024, I'll just host my own little Chicago meetup ;) we'll see!

I'm gonna be quite honest, this news post doesn't really have a point to it. It's 11 PM, I'm tired and I'm gonna word everything in this terribly, but I haven't made a news post since October of... 2021. Yikes! But that's okay, because just as time goes by quickly when you're not paying attention, I find that it also goes by slowly when you're paying attention. And I intend to pay more attention to this site - to contribute in at least some ways, other than silently icon moderating and paying for Newgrounds Supporter - whatever that entails, I'm not entirely sure yet! That could just mean being more active in the forums or reviewing more, or maybe even *gasp* actual content?? It's weird how I believe that all content on here is good and purposeful no matter what it is, and yet when it comes to my actual content I worry about that. But no longer! I'm young enough to where if whatever I make is crap, you can still kinda defend it as "ehhh well he's still young" lol.

But hey, I've also been busy! Just the other month, I visited Colorado for the first time ever and it was so incredibly lovely. I haven't gotten those pics all uploaded yet, but when I do I'll definitely make another news post including them. Speaking of pics, I've been taking a lot of those! Here's just a few circulated specifically around me, maybe I'll make some dedicated posts for specific events where I took a lot of neat photos.

Good morning everybody, and Happy Piconjo Day! :D

I hope you're all doing well! To start off this newpost, I just want to apologize for not posting on here much ;-; other than checking my notifications and doing icon mod stuff, I haven't really been active on here much and that kind of blows. I've been trying to wait until I got done with my animation series to post on here, but I've been making good progress and I made something recently so I think now is as good of a time as any to be active again!

Speaking of doing something recently.... HAPPY PICONJO DAY!!

I'm gonna talk a little bit about some of my favorite notable things to happen this year on here, although you should definitely check out @TomFulp's 2020 retrospective here because I'm kinda just going over my thoughts on what he's already talked about :P (And like usual, I'm making this post when I'm super tired, so sorry if everything I say here doesn't make any sense LOL)

First of all, I know the year has been crappy in general, but I'd reckon 2020 has been a pretty great year for Newgrounds! Friday Night Funkin' has become wildly successful and has brought in a ton of new members to Newgrounds, and I know @ninjamuffin99 has been doing his best to make sure that people who come here for Friday Night Funkin' know what a wonderful community Newgrounds is.

The TANKMas Adventure was such a fun experience (especially with @Snackers' Duncan & Jones 3 Premiere!), Dead Estate was one of the coolest games I played on Newgrounds in a while, and @Xinxinix's Secret Santa was such a wonderfully happy occasion.

I think the @TheNewgroundsPodcast Block Party is probably not only my favorite thing to happen on Newgrounds this year, but my favorite thing that happened in general this year. I had such a blast and it helped me forget about some of the events I was supposed to go to this year that got cancelled.

Also, this wasn't mentioned in the "official" 2020 retrospective but I want to give a little shout-out to @Little-Rena's BBS Awards 2020. Although I sadly don't post nearly as much in the BBS anymore, it's still a very nice community and I'm happy that the tradition of the BBS Awards has been able to continue with this much love and care put into it!

Now time for the fun part! What are my plans for 2021?

Well, I'm glad you asked! First of all, I really hope to get done with my animation! I've been working very hard on trying to make it the best it can be, with constant revisions and different versions of flash to try and make it the best first episode that it can be. I know it's probably a bit silly to spend this much time animating on the first episode instead of just getting it done and making the next episodes better, but I really want to have an end product that I can be happy with as my starting point!

Here's a comparison between one of the first versions of one of my characters, versus one of my latest:

The one on the right actually isn't very accurate to how the end product will be, I've decided against shading it so I can do frame-by-frame easier. I found out the hard way that tweening just isn't really my thing ;-; But hopefully this helps represent how much I've been working on it!

My other plans include going to more events (mostly concerts and festivals, but I might also be going to conventions like TooManyGames!) and getting caught up with schoolwork.

To end off this post, I thought it'd be fun to shout out some of my friends!

I'm gonna be specifically shouting out friends who I've known for a long time outside of Newgrounds, so that people in the Newgrounds community can check them out. Most of these people have more followers then me so I guess it's kinda pointless for me to do this, but I still thought it'd be fun :P

@KOLSAN - Kenny is legitimately one of my best friends, I've known him for such a long time and he's always been such a cool person and a great bro to call with. He's an amazing artist and he recently got his art frontpaged on here and I could not be prouder! It's been such a wonderful experience seeing your art grow. Hopefully I'll be able to call with you and the rest of the gang again real soon!

@WooDeeWoo - David is not only the most multi-talented person that I know, he's honestly one of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He's also one of my best friends, he does absolutely amazing art and I even commissioned him to make a piano piece for my animation!

@FlorenRED - Floren is a very great friend of mine and he's also one of the kindest people I know! He's also a very talented artist who mainly draws video game and anime related pieces. And he also draws a lot of butts, if you're into that kind of thing. Go check him out!

@distemgla - Ivan is, again, a very great friend of mine! He's also one of the more "experimental" artists on this list, seeing as how he always changes his style and tries new things. He has a ton of potential, and I'm glad to see him grow as an artist. Go check him out, and let him know what you think works and what doesn't!

I honestly appreciate this so much, I've always wanted Newgrounds merch like this and I'm so proud to be a part of this community.

And speaking of community, the Duncan & Jones 3 Premiere in the Christmas TANKMas Adventure game was so much fun!

And I'm pretty sure I was the only guy with a Salad Fingers skin during the event, so that was pretty cool! Anyways, great job to @Snackers for making such a cool animation and great job to @BrandyBuizel for coming up with this event idea! I hope there'll be more cool events like this one and the Newgrounds Podcast Block Party in the future :D

I'm mostly working on updating the thumbnails of older flashes, recreating them as close to the original thumbnail as possible so that they're the best quality they can be. I'll also be making thumbnails for submissions that don't have one.

This is absolutely crazy to me and I'm honestly so happy right now, I never imagined this would happen in a million years! Thank you so much @TomFulp, and also thank you @ninjamuffin99 for making such a cool game! :D This will always be my favorite site.

Secondly, since my account is getting some traction and I'm getting some new followers/fans, I thought I'd let you all know about the animation I'm working on!

I'm currently making the first episode for a series I'm calling Red Kitty, featuring a character of the same name I made when I was 8 years old (and back then he was called The Loose, but I changed the name because I don't want it to be confused with the great series Loose Ends by @JacobLenstar :P). It'll have voice acting by me and @oblivi8e and music by @WooDeeWoo!

I'm hoping it'll get done by the end of next month, but since I'm doing it frame-by-frame I honestly have no idea if it'll get done sooner or later. It all depends on my laziness *shrug*

Don't expect anything great, it IS gonna be my first animation (unless you want to count my crappy Clock Crew spam), I just wanted to let you guys updating on what I'm planning :D
